IS WARMING UP IMPORTANT FOR YOUR WORKOUT? What if I told you the warm up portion of your work out is of equal importance as any lift, sprint, or burpee in your routine? I don’t care whether your fitness goals include weight loss, muscle gain, performance or health in general. This is not only going to protect you. It is going to help you get to your goals faster. Here are four reasons why you should warm up. 1. Stronger Lifts Warming up is like gassing up your car. Your muscles need, oxygen, blood, and nutrients pumped to them in order to operate just like your vehicle needs gas to run. Getting your heart pumping is going to send these things to the area being worked. Also, a moderate warm up makes the muscle tissue more pliable. This is important when your muscles are elongating and contracting during a lift.
